Research and Development
After looking into Weke studio's work on District 9, I was inspired by their 3D modelling to give it a shot. While I don't have specific software for it, I do have the game Spore which has a create a creature mode, which allows you to make creatures with a basic form of 3D modelling. Using this, I tried to recreate a Prawn (the aliens in District 9).
As all the images of the diorama are rather bare and empty, by using collage I could fill in the negative space, appearing much more like a forest. The background in particular was inspired by one of the images i took in which the background was rather orange.
